50 Reunion & Pre 1960 Leavers

50 Year Reunion and those at School pre 1960

Three Old Girls and three Old Boys represented the select few who had left the School 50 years ago in 1961, but were joined by over 60 others who had left before them, to celebrate the 50 year Reunion and those at School pre 1960.

The Champagne Reception in Old Hall provided the setting for those of us who had not been back since leaving to try and guess who they might recognise after such a long time. If the face was unrecognisable, the trick seemed to be in placing the voices, which seemed to have changed the least of all other physical attributes.

Lunch in Deans' Hall meant catching up on news covering a good few years and checking how accurate memories had remained. Amid much chatter and laughter a raffle raised over £330 towards the Grass Quad Appeal.

After lunch the girls were transported to Kings Campus and the boys managed to wander round the Castle Campus where I think the guides learnt as much from us as we did from them.

After tea on the grass quad it was time to depart after a hugely enjoyable day which stirred many memories and gave unexpected pleasure in meeting such a wide variety of people.
