The Boat Club
2009 saw the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Berkhamsted School Boat Club. Since Messrs Tim Jolly and Colin McDougall formed the Club in 1959, it has notched up many fine achievements. With the Club now under the leadership of Toby Medaris - a member of the Oxford crew that romped to victory in the 2008 University Boat Race - the master in charge of rowing hopes that future school crews will emulate the successes of the best of their predecessors. On Saturday 8th May, the School welcomed Martin Cross - Olympic Gold Medal-Winning Oarsman from the 1984 LA Games, OBs and parents to the Boat Club Fundraising Dinner. A fantastic evening was had by all and over £30,000 was raised, the proceeds going towards funding:

- Three Concept II Indoor Rowing Machines @ £500 each - £1,500
- Two Racing Double Scull Rowing Boats (One Mens, One Womens) @ £5,000 each - £10,000
- One Racing Quadruple Scull Rowing Boat - £10,000
- Four Pairs of Rowing Oars @ £475 - £1,900
- 12 Sets of Rowing Shoes @ £50 each - £600
